Ingredients
500g(1.1 lbs) potatoes, peeled
1block (165 g or 5.8 oz) cheese, Eden or Ques-o, cut into strips
½cupcooked ham, chopped
¼cupspring onion, chopped
1pcegg, beaten
1cupbreadcrumbs
salt and pepper, to taste
4cupswater, for boiling
1cupcooking oil, for frying
Instructions
In a cooking pot, pour-in water and bring to a boil.
Add-in the peeled potatoes. Simmer until soft then transfer to a bowl or plate and let it cool.
Mash the potatoes until a fine texture is achieved.
Add-in the chopped cooked ham, chopped spring onions, and season with salt and pepper generously as desired. Mix until well-incorporated. Set aside.
Skewer the cheese strips with a stick (optional, to hold the rolls later on).
Scoop a part of the mashed potato mixture and then completely wrap the cheese with it. Repeat this step for the rest of the mixture.
In two separate bowls, add-in the beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs separately.
Completely dip the rolls into the beaten egg wash, and then coat with the breadcrumbs afterwards. Set aside.
In a cooking pan, pour-in and heat over medium heat.
Add-in the rolls. Deep-fry until all sides are golden brown.
Transfer to a serving plate or serving tray and dry excess oil with paper towels. Serve with a dip of your choice and enjoy!
