Breaded Tokwa Nuggets Recipe

Ingredients

  • 250 g (8.8 oz) tokwa (tofu), cut into 2-inch cubes
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp garlic powder, (optional)
  • 1 tsp onion powder, (optional)
  • cup water
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 3 tbsp cooking oil, for frying
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, add-in the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt and pepper. Mix well and the pour-in the water. Mix until no lumps are seen.
  • In a separate bowl, add-in the breadcrumbs.
  • Prepare the tokwa (tofu) nuggets and dip them into the flour mixture, and then into the breadcrumbs. Do it until the nuggets are fully coated.
  • In a frying pan, pour-in and heat the cooking oil over low to medium heat.
  • Add-in the tofu nuggets. Cook until both sides are golden brown.
  • Transfer to a serving plate or serving tray and dry excess oil with paper towels. Serve with a dip of your choice and enjoy!
