Easy Pilipit (Pinoy Twisted Doughnut) Recipe

A pastry/ fried donut which is shaped into a rope-like structure and is then coated with either sugar or syrup.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 pc egg, beaten
  • 1 can full cream milk
  • 1 ½ cup powdered sugar, or granulated sugar
  • 2 cups cooking oil, or as needed

Instructions

  • In a bowl, add-in the all-purpose flour, and salt.
  • Then add in the egg, and full cream milk. Mix until well-incorporated and a dough is formed.
  • Knead the dough until smooth and let it rest for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Cut the dough in half. Flatten each dough and then cut in ½ inch strips. Roll the strip until the desired thickness and then put the ends together and twist. Repeat for the rest of the ingredients.
  • Let it rest for another 30 minutes.
  • In a cooking pan, pour-in and heat oil over medium heat.
  • Add-in the bread dough. Cook until golden brown.
  • Transfer to a serving plate or serving tray. Sprinkle powdered sugar on each piece. Serve and enjoy!
