Banana Puto Recipe

This is a banana flavored twist to our favorite rice cake Puto.

Equipment

  • Steamer

Ingredients

  • 4 pcs ripe bananas, mashed
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ¼ cup butter, or margarine, melted
  • ½ cup evaporated milk, or condensed milk
  • 3 pcs eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp salt

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, add-in the mashed bananas, eggs, evaporated milk, butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until well-incorporated.
  • In another bowl, add-in the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Slowly add-in the flour mixture into the banana mixture and stir well. Mix until well-incorporated and a nice consistency is achieved.
  • Prepare puto molds and brush it with cooking oil.
  • Fill the mold with the puto batter. Repeat this step for the rest of the ingredients.
  • Transfer the molds to a steamer. Steam for 10 to 15 minutes. Cover the steamer lid with a dry towel to avoid water from dripping.
  • Remove from the molds and transfer to a serving tray or serving plate. Serve and enjoy!
