Ingredients

Dough Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp Milo powder
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder, optional
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 pc egg, beaten
  • 1 tbsp butter, melted (or oil)
  • ¾ cup evaporated milk, or fresh milk
  • 2 cups cooking oil, for frying

Glaze Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder, or Milo powder
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • ¾ cup evaporated milk, or condensed milk
  • 1 tbsp butter

Topping Ingredients

  • ½ cup Milo powder
  • ¼ cup powdered milk

Instructions

Dough Procedure

  • In a bowl, add-in beaten egg, butter, and evaporated milk. Combine together and mix well.
  • In a separate bowl, add-in all-purpose flour, Milo powder, cocoa powder, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Slowly incorporate the egg mixture into the bowl while stirring. Mix until desired consistency is achieved.
  • Knead the dough. Sprinkle a bit of flour if the dough is too sticky. Then flatten the dough using a rolling pin. Form the ring donuts using a donut maker or form into balls. Repeat the process for the rest of the dough and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  • In a deep cooking pan, pour-in and heat oil in medium heat.
  • Add-in the donut pieces. Deep-fry for 9 to 10 minutes or until the donuts look puffed up. Let it cool and set aside.

Glaze Procedure

  • In a pan, pour-in and heat the evaporated milk and butter in low heat.
  • In a bowl, add-in the cocoa powder and sugar. Pour-in the heated evaporated milk mixture into the bowl. Mix until well-incorporated.

Toppings Procedure

  • In a plate, pour-in the glaze and then dip the top side of the donuts (or fully, if it is formed into balls).
  • In a separate plate, mix the topping ingredients and then dip the donuts.
  • Transfer to a serving plate or serving tray. Serve and enjoy!
